![]() If you like story progression and the idea of having your sims live in an open world that feels truly alive, I don't think you'll get a better Sims experience than TS3, if you love building and want ultimate customization on every facet therein, you'll be frustrated with certain aspects of TS3 build mode - such as the lack of upscaling and downscaling items and the inability to place things at different heights, but you'll likely enjoy other aspects, such as create-a-style which allows you to customize every item in the game.įor this price, I'd say it's probably worth the gamble - but if you're at all concerned, I would seek out some way to trial the game before you buy, since that'll be the only way to know without a doubt.Īlso, if you do decide to purchase the game, feel free to hit me up for mod help! I've obsessively curated a mod folder for TS3 over the past several months that should make it easy for you to jump in and play while having it look half-decent, everything also has accompanying screenshots so you can remove anything you don't like from your game - let me know if that interests you! But at the same time, I recognize I'm not everyone and there are people out there who offer some reasonable complaints - namely the art style, the difficulty getting it to run on low end PCs, and the load times. Yeah, no problem! If you want my honest take, I love TS3, so it's hard for me to say it's not worth the purchase - to me, it just flat out is. Honestly, if you tested it out before buying it in some way I think that’s the best way to know for sure. Also consider loading times, in TS4 there’s much more load screens, but each is pretty short, whereas in TS3 it’ll only load when you’re booting the game up, but Jesus Christ does it take long, especially if you’re using mods. Another thing to keep in mind is your computers capabilities - TS3 despite its age actually harder to run than TS4, so you’ve got to make sure your PC can handle it, or else you may end up not playing it. ![]() ![]() For me, the art style can be fixed easily enough and the game play is the best in the series, but it’s really going to depend on what you value in gameplay - if you’re a big builder, for example, TS3 is going to feel like a step backwards from TS4. ![]() It can be fixed with mods, but for some people the art style ruins the game for them. I love the Sims 3, I’d definitely say it’s worth buying - that being said, the art style hasn’t aged well. ![]()
